First time out Need a little help to get to lake today

De-winterized my new to me boat yesterday afternoon. Changed motor oil, drive oil, charge battery clean up boat. Boat fired right off purred at 800-900 rpms all was good...

Then tried to raise outdrive to move boat. Stern drive will only go up @ 1/4 to 1/2 way.
Boat is a 03 stingray 200 lx 5.0 V8 alpha one outdrive. Guess I am not getting to lake today.. some beech

Ayuh,... Sounds like it came up to the trim limit...
Do you have a Tilt/ Trailer button to over-ride the trim,..??

many thanks! I just have the control on the throttle. No trim on rear of boat.

If you press the tilt button a few times do you hear any "clicks"? My old OMC boat had a weak tilt motor and sometimes took several presses of the tilt button to get it all the way up.

Motor trims down smoothly trim up smooth no click (bad connection sound) but stops before mid way

If the switch was bad (up or down) it would not operate in one direction, correct?

Sorry I can't be of any help. I just seen your post and thought of the problem I had with my old OMC and wanted to share my experience. Hope you get it fixed quickly and get on the lake! Good luck.

Usually you have a trim button and a trailer button. Trim only puts the drive up only so far so the prop dosen't cavitate. Trailer button bypasses the trim sensor and will move it anywhere. Alpha's only go up to about a 45* angle anyways.

Boat only has one trim switch on the throttle. Now unit does not come up but maybe 1/4 of lift only 4 inches off ground when on trailer

Pust the trim button a little harder. Some controllers had 2 postion switch for up.

Check your trim fluid?

Get her done. Flushed out trim switch with contact cleaner then used compressed air and blew out some dirt. Switch works like new again. Push in to trim motor then harder to trailer trim. Works fine now. Good ole west Texas dust
