Well, My girlfriend and I took our boat out for the first time last weekend. All in all We had a blast. Really more to driving them than one would think but we did good. Practiced pulling away from and entering the docks on a moving river. Launched the boat pretty good too. Had a small mishap when loading the boat (forgot to put the outdrive up). Ooops. We had a really good time though.

Did notice some things while driving the boat. Have a bearing noise when low speed turning and it feels like it wants to cut out when i throttle up from an idle. Looked through the forum a bit and figure I will be doing some engine maintenance and a gimble bearing. Heres a couple pics of the boat.

Re: First time out

Congrats.

If you got in and out with only a little scraping on your skeg, you did well for your first time out.

Just wait for the day you forget to put in the plug....that is always exciting! It seems to be a right of passage for most boaters.

Enjoy your new ride!

P.S. If you havn't already, buy a service manual for your motor. Will make that maintainance you are planning a whole lot easier.

Re: First time out

Ya, everyone I talk too keeps pounding the plug into my head. Guess they didnt pound the drive into my head enough. Funny thing is I just had the drive off to have a new Skeg welded on. Didnt notice it was missing when I bought the boat. already ordered the manuals
