This past weekend was my first time out in a new to me 16' Larson with a 80hp Erude. 1)As we(me and my dad) started the day out we preped every thing on the boat(ie. cooler, snacks, fuel etc.) Hooked up and went to the closest lake (Hudson Lake, IN.) When we got to the ramp I had my dad start to prime the bulb, which seemed like for five minutes, he tells me that its taking forever to refill with fuel?? I asked him to check the vent cap on the tank to make sure it was open and it was but it turned out he had the fuel line fliped over and so it was tring to draw fuel from the SOLID BRASS CLIP! 
2) Now that we have figured out that we back the boat into the water and I have him start the motor so we can back the thing off. He starts it up and idles it down, I ask him to put it into reverse and slowly back off, as he puts it into reverse the motor learches up as if it were being tilted in to the boat,(I tinking OH S***) and tell him to turn it off, which he thinks I said go faster and revs it up a little bit more!! Finaly I yell the KEY, TURN THE KEY OFF!! and he does. Turns out we both forgot about the little lever on the transom that reads RELEASE or LOCK....<br /><br />Just thought I'd share that with you guys, By the way I did however remember to put the pulg in..
