i just had my first winter bbq. -14c {around 7F}. clear skies, and cold beer and rum and coke. steaks were great, beverages cold..lol. bbq is better in the summer but when there are trillions of stars out, xmas lights around the deck, the smell of steaks on the bbq is great...all is good.

Wow that sounds great! Been pouring rain here which has turned everything on the ground to solid ice!

We (as well as neighbors) often grill in winter. Temperature is not an issue.
We host Xmas for the family every year. One thing I always do is spit some form of dead mammal on the grill (got the rotissirie option:)).
This year it was a big ham shank. Everyone fights over the crunchy charred ends.

Hey cousin....,

Yup, BBQ'ing 's the thing to do right now,

We had 60*F temps here since last night and 33-36*F for the two days preceeding.
The yard looks strange with all of that snow gone,

Before

After,

but we now have winds, hail, rain, cats dogs and other micellaneous items falling out of the sky and next year's firewood is piling up as I speak! Life is easy here in Nanook Country :D

I was looking at your quick fix :D Trihull job, excellent pictorial, like the colours too!
Looks like you are going to have to install more beer bottle holders, as the law requires two per seat up here, but case holders are not allowed! :D (we just tow a mule!)

If you want to do another Tri-hull...there is a very similar one to yours, but maybe a foot or two longer, up for grabs just south of here with the 140, 4 cyl Chev Mercruiser I/O in it, for $1500 CDN.
It runs but has no seats (Beer hauler eh?), the hull and out drive are good, and I trust buddy who has it. It is shrinkwrapped and winterized, no trailer.

Well hey,...keep on BBQing and I hope your boating season comes just before mine.
PH.

Day before last I wiped a foot tall snow cone off my weber grill and smoked some salmon with maple chips. Don't know if it had anything to do with the colder temps, but the salmon came out especially fine. :)

i'm not into i/o. i'm strickly an outboard enthusiast. there must be a name for that. lol. there are two or three around here that i'm kind of pursuing, but these newfies are tough customers to negotiate with. lol.

the weather here has been up and down all season. we had 20 cm of snow a week ago, then it rained, now all is green again and +7. thursday there is another storm on the way, up to 20cm.

normally it's around the long weekend in may before the ice is out of the lake and the dirt road is dry enough to drive on. last year, however it was the first week of june, before i got down. long winters.

oh, and by the way, for legal reasons, we prefer the term "beverage" holders. lol..kidding.

not sure why things seem to taste better. i find i have to have the bbq on a higher heat because of the temps. maybe that has something to do with. and the fact that the beer is colder.
