Make sure everything is working properly, the boat has all the necessary safety stuff and treat the first trip like a shakedown cruise, oh and remember to put the plug in.

Put the Plug in.

Go early in the season when it wont be croawded at the ramp. Take your time, and do it right, not fast.

Put the Plug In

Test fire at home to make sure all will go well and don;t forget to use the muffs. Do you know what kind of Antifreeze was used to winterize it? If its the RV stuff you are fine fine, just let ti wash out, if not, make sure to wash down the area that it washes out to.

Put the Plug in.

Check all your lights on the trailer, air pressur in tires, and check for any crasking in the tread or side wall.

Put the plug in

I assum you have read your local laws and regulations on safety equipment. If not read them, understadn them, and make sure you conform. Not just so you dont get fined, but really its all good information on how to stay safe on the water.

Oh, and before you launch, make sure the plug is in.

Put the plug in? ...........Oh! ok ;)

Seriously it should be started at home on the muffs before going to the lake.

Run to Wal Mart and get some muffs and start it in the driveway before you leave, nothing worse than hitting the launch and finding out your boat won't start.

Have you ever launched a boat before?

Don't tie up the ramp, when you back onto the ramp you should be ready to launch, few things pi** me off more than watching some putz sit on the ramp and load coolers ect ect, also after you load the boat pull back to the staging area well clear of the ramp, don't be the putz.

A launch has 3 areas, the ramp-parking and staging area, there is always an area out of everyone way that you should get the boat both ready to launch and ready to leave, this keeps you on the ramp as little as possible.

If you are iffy with backing, practice that at home before you leave and put your drive up before you launch and after you get back so you don't drag it going in/out.
