Moments ago I just purchased a 1997 Regal 2100 LSR, with the 5.7L Volvo Penta. I had the boat out for a water test, checked flooring, compression (150+ across the board), steering and throttle cables, etc. Everything came back perfect, and I accepted delivery.

While take a few pictures to send off for some minor upholstery repair, I noticed that the flooring was ever so slightly soft over the ski locker. It has been especially rainy here in Orlando, and while the boat has been in dry storage most of its life, there has been some recent rain exposure, and the snap covering isn't in 100% shape.

Basically, should some deflection be standard directly over the ski locker? There is perhaps some additional soft spots over the fuel tank, but the flooring is currently wet, so perhaps it is just mooshy soaked carpet?

I weight 225Lbs., so I'd imagine I can put enough weight on some things to have them move a touch.

Any surefire ways to detect this? I can post pictures or video if someone would like to actually see it, although there isn't anything to 'see'.

I paid... Slightly too much in my opinion. I looked at a nearly identical 2000 model, that was just beat to ****. Guy wanted $10K for that one, trailer had no breaks, tons of imperfections, engine leaked, ick.

This one has one tiny fiberglass crack on the upper passengers side over the window, where the snaps pop in. This is extremely uber common, and to only have one of such a small size is pretty lucky. The mirrors are also in perfect shape, which is great, since I've heard they can't be sourced anymore. Besides that there is a dime size nick in the hull, only through the gel coat. Freshly rebuilt and flow benched carb, engine looks like it was loved from day one.

We settled on $8K, boat NADA's at $9K+ for the 1999, which I thought it was until I checked the title. I suppose I just missed it in all of the Craigslist postings I was reading. Without the trailer, this one is valued at $6,950.

My mistake, and when I shake on something, I'm not about to go back on it (he also dropped her off to my house).

The 'softish' spots are directly around the ski locker hatch, and perhaps just aft, directly in front of the rear seats.

.8 k for that is a deal imho......i live in canada and prices are a little higher.....last year i sold a 90 bayliner capri that i had just done a restoration on....for 7800.....so 8 is great.

ok.....stick your head in the locker......yup....upside down right in the locker with a bright flash light....

if there is a bulkhead right there.....you have small issues.....ok...medium issues.
if the bulkhead is farther back....like a foot or two......then some bounce is normal.......

when you are in there......look up at the bottom of the floor.....is it rotten?....mush?....solid or medium?.....

there should actually be a brace going just under the floor to the stringers.

if its carpet......and you have carpet glue.....then you can pull up a small section of the carpet towards the rear by the bulkhead......dont pull too much up or the carpet will rip....look....take pics......if bad...post them here so we can look.....if good....glue it down and we can set to the deck area

Thanks, I really don't feel bad about the price, so many of these things needs $$$ in upholstery repair that I'm really quite lucky.

I have a full custom fit cover being delivered tomorrow, and once she dries out I'll stick my head and camera in the locker and take some pics.

I'm also planning to remove all of the carpet, do a Durabak liner, and then snap in carpets from Corinthian Marine, so I'm going to be paying a lot of attention to the floor.

Thanks for your prompt response, I'm looking forward to being an avid member of this site!
