port side fish box pump not working unknown why, but looking into it the lines unclogged, circuit breaker not tripped. looking down at it from the port rear battery hatch the label has a warning but I am unable to read it.
1. Anyone know exactly what it says before I attempt further?
2. How does it come out?
3. where do I look for a replacement?

Re: Fish Box pump questions

hey d

I just replaced my livewell/washdown pump yesterday, had to get my azz down in the compartment between the 2 front seats (2302) what a *****! me and 3 batteries! it was a Par-max 4 pump and was held on to a bulk head with 4 screws. I've got some work to do on the boat today I'll take a look see at the fish boxes on mine and see if I might be able to offer any help. I'll get back to you later

Re: Fish Box pump questions

Thanks my live well pump is located right under the engine bay hatchway just to the right looking down from the top. at some point I'm going to look to put a y valve and fitting on the cockpit wall or elsewhere to use it for a wash down like the Pro models have. As I said there's writing on the label on the port side fish box pump that says warning but the angle prevents me from reading the entire text and I'm hestant to pull it out with further clarification on it. Plus I'd like to know how to remove it like is it threading and held in place solely at the fittinginto the box or is it bolted into the hull.

Re: Fish Box pump questions

sorry it took so long to get back. my pump/macerators are at each of the drains, I can get to each through the rear transom hatch doors. I see no labels or warning stickers. what yr and model do you have? Get a mirror and see if you could make out what it reads

Re: Fish Box pump questions

just cleaned mine...lots of tag ends of fishing line had clogged both of them... the starboard side well had completely burned out...found the exact replacement on E-bay for $ 40 (brand new )......after cleaning the port side, I believe you could put out a fire some feet away...they both were rated at 1000 gal. per minute and man do they both pump out water in a hurry....lesson learned now I will be careful about triming fishing line and where it ends up !!

Re: Fish Box pump questions

Not sure what model or year boat you have. I've got a 1995 Trophy 2002.
Are talking about the baitwell?
If so, turn off everything in the boat and then turn on only the baitwell pump. Do you hear the motor running (yes the one that is down in the transom just above your thru-hull fitting)?
I thought I had a problem as well, but I could hear the pump working. It turned out that once I had both shutoffs opened (the one down in the transom should be straight up and down and the one in the fishbox/baitwell should be in-line with the fill tube) I just left it running and about 5 minutes later it started filling the baitwell. Mine just needed some time to get the water up to the baitwell.
Hope this helps!
