I bought a 1977 bowrider that came with a fish/depth finder and it won't come on. The blk and wht wires are connected with nut screws under the dash and that is about as far as I dare to poke around. I am a rookie to boats, any ideas? Thanks

Somewhere under there should be about a 3 amp fuse for your depth finder. It may be blown or a bad/loose/corroded connection in the wires there. My depth finder did the same thing and I just got a flashlight and searched around until I found it. Good Luck!

Trace the wires to a power source (battery). If you find a fuse, check it to make sure it is not blown like suggested. If it has power and a good fuse, should work unless it is broken...

do you have a 12vdc probe, touch the positive leed and negitive leed (wire not the outside insulation) , and it should light up if you have power:)
