I just recieved my new Garmin 160 fishfinder. I know that you are not supposed to run the cable near any other electrical device in order to reduce poor readings. Can you run the cable next to the spedometer cable/hose?

Yes you can with no problem, speedo is just a plastic tube where water flows into gauge.

You shouln't be too worried about interference, but try to connect it to a good + and ground, directly to a battery would be great.

BTW, I had same fishfinder, great unit.

Thanks Valv, I am planning on running the cable up through the same hole and attatch them to the hull with the same cable clamps to minimize holes in the hull. Good advice on the + and ground cables.

Any other thoughts
