I have a 19 ft VIP Fish and Ski and would like to add a fish finder to the front of my boat. I currently have a Hummingbird that is older, by the steering wheel. I know that I will need to replace the transducer to put a new/better one up front. My question is, would it be possible to tie in both screens to one transducer. I know that if 2 transducers are running together they can cause interference and that they make a switch that only runs one screen at a time. I also know that I can mount one to the trolling motor, but i am not really a fan of that either. I want both screens running at the same time off one transducer. Is there a splitter or can I splice the transducer cable or how can I do this or is it even possible. Thank you for the help.

Re: Fish Finder

I've not seen an installation where one transducer feeds two screens simultaneously although PinPoint at one time did offer a "Network" style system where this could be done. It's all about parallel loading which would upset the signal from the transducer. Since you don't intend to use a trolling motor mount, where do you plan to mount the forward transducer. If you hull mount it anywhere forward of the helm you will likely lose signal since that part of the boat would be out of the water when on-plane. Transducers cannot read through "air".
