fishfinder ratings

guys,

i know nothing about fishfinders but am looking to purchase one. Thing is , i haven't a clue what to look for , except that it'll be a thru hull one. Can some of you let me know what model you reckon to be one of the good middle of the road ones? i'm after a colour one that doesn't have to many bells and whistles attached.

Is this an aluminum or fiberglass hull? That will make a big difference when you consider thru-hull.

I plan on getting this little jewel for xmas.from HF..Deduct 20% from the price and it will onlly be about 40 bucks.
