fishin in norther Texas

ok so here goes ... im new to boating ... just about done redoing a bayliner now (stop laughing )... so ive always used worms and minnows ... but here in dfw the waters a brackish/ muddy and not very clear so what is the best way to fish here? and or is there a bok dedicated to texas lakes? or thes types of water conditions that explains good ways to setup lines and types of baits to use?

Stained and silty water doesn't seem to affect the fishing here, NSY.

Well up here in Oklahoma we use juglines for catfishing alot. We use worms alot, minnows sometimes, and shad often. Start saving up your bleach jugs and old solo cups. We fill the cups with cement and use copper wire to make a half-loop sitcking up out of the cup to attachch a swivel. This holds our juglines in place and is much cheaper than the 2 dollar lead weights. A couple of swivels and hooks baited in the middle and you are good to go. You can also find several limblining techniques on the net for rivers in the spring and summer. Good luck!

It all depends on the fish you want to target. There are some good hybrid/striper lakes near you. Not to hijack this forum but go to Texas Fishing Forum. Alot of good people and each section is broken down by what fish you want to target.

I fished loggy bayeu near Beaumont, Texas, and it was brackish.
Seems like the spinners out produce anything else.
Even used an ultra light and a roostertail that caught tons of bass.
Had my brother in laws jaw dropping , with his 6000 flipping stick.lol
