Back for more help. I am restoring and modifying a 1985 Alumacraft Lunker 16 SS. I purchased this boat new as a tiller model, now I want to convert it to a console model. I have been watching consoles on ebay but haven't found one I like. I checked with Alumacraft and a new console from a somewhat similar boat will cost well over $500.
My next thought is to build one myself. As I remember the console that was offered in these boats was pretty flat, no curves and no molded plastic. Problem is, I am going on my memory (which isn't that good). Does anyone out there have an Alumacraft of that vintage with a console? If so, I sure would appreciate it if you could measure it up and send me the dimensions. If you could possibly take a picture or tow and either post them here or email them to me, I would be forever in your debt.
Thanks for the help.
