Re: Fishing buddy gone

Sorry to hear about your loss, it was 4 years ago and two hours from now, my fishing buddy of 42 was shot and killed. His wife gave me his pole. I keep it on my boat in the rod holder with his name and dates on it. It will always remain there. (gets used every once in awhile ;) )

Thoughts and Prayers going your way.

Man :( Sorry about your loss, Ron. I have yet to have to deal with this in my life and I am terrified that my account is overdrawn.

Man think of the stories thier telling up there now. Your gona be in some of them. Good lord needs a few fishermen too, And like you and I, he picks the good ones.

Lost my lifetime fishing and hunting buddy about 5 years ago. The same thing done him in as going to get me, Diabetis sux.
Your loss hurts bad at first, then it becomes very fond memorys.
I have joked with my friends wife in the last few years about his grilled dove recipie, he never would give it to me, and he took it with him. Guess the good Lord likes grilled dove too.
Im rambling. sorry for your loss man.

I feel for you and My prayers of peace for you.
I just lost my best friend of 25 years Jan 30th of this year. We did everything together. One thing that helped me was. After I was told she was gone, all theese memories of all we did together sence 1st grade popped in my head when one did I wrote it down. now I'm making a "memory book" one for me and a copy for her mom and husband and daughter. I know what your going through. There will be good days and really rough days. It is ok to cry and it is good to laugh and numb is also a good feeling. Take it easy and take care of yourself. I quit eating for two weeks not good.
Serenity

I'm sorry to hear that Ron. :(

My Grandfather was my best fishing buddy and there isn't a day out on the bay that I don't think of him, his stories and the great times we had together. I miss him horribly, but just thinking of him always brings a smile to my face.

What is so rare as a great fishing and hunting buddy?

They help make us who we are. . . especially the ones that are a generation or two older than we.

If immortality is leaving people with treasured memories of good times and good friends, then your friend has achieved immortality.

When I think of times with Jim Willis, Hugh Carter, Les Saumweber, Bill Summitt and a few others I realize how much they shaped me. And I smile. :)
