What had started out as a sluggish week of bass fishing going to a dozen spots to finally catch a few fish Thursday was the day to be fishing as big fish in the 25-40lb class were being caught just outside the harbor. There were plenty of mackerel for live lining and I guess that is what brought the stripers in to feed.
Bottom fishing for cod and haddock has been slow, too many dog fish between the bottom and the surface. They are nasty critters even taking a chunk out of your fish as you reel them up, sometimes it is like having a tug of war with the dogs.
