Im moving to Lake Fork in less than 20 days now from Arkansas. Ive never fished Fork before. My house sits less than 1 mile to the public boat ramp by the bridge on FM 2946.
I have been a fisherman my whole life but not a whole lot of success. But, Im addicted and plan to be on the water most days.
Ive heard of and seen all the big bass coming from Fork and am really excited at the opportunity. What Im wondering, and hopefully someone familiar with Fork can weigh in, is can a novice fisherman have a decent shot at just getting on the water and fishing banks and docks and timber catch decent fish there? Or do you have to really know where they are, know what lure and what color to throw on particular days? I know that it is a great advantage knowing about water temp, and what color of lure goes with what color of what and all.
Does anyone here fish Lake Fork regulary? Any tips for early July Bass fishing?
Also, if anyone is around there who doesnt have a boat, I wouldnt mind having someone to fish with every once and awhile(No smoking, no alcohol). As long as you can put up with someone who doesnt really know what they are doing but loves to fish and a not new, smallish bass boat. .
