watching America's funniest videos, these kids attached a line and bait to a remote boat. launched in a little ponds, caught what looked to be a 2-3lb catfish, boat pulled the line to shore. was really a cute and funny video.

Watched a couple of kids up at Hat Creek tying peanuts to fishing lines and casting them to the chipmunks. The chipmunks would not let go of the nuts and jumped and convorted like fish. Verry funny but I don't think the game warden would have thought so.

Re: fishing w/ remote control boat

We used to fish with them all the time - in Raystown the stripers would school the shad into the spillway, which was of course off limits to boaters and fishermen. The only way to get a lure to the gates was to put it on the back of an RC boat that was modified with a rubberband type remote release.

Drive the RC boat to the gates, release the lures, bring the lures back, bring the RC boat back, and do it all over again. However when the stripers were feeding, it was drive the RC boat to the gates, release the lures, hook the striper, fight the striper, land it, release it, bring the RC boat back to the boat, and repeat! :D

Great fun until the wind would blow the RC boat on shore, then someone would have to risk a fine to go retrieve the RC Boat. ;)

Back when I had an RC boat I lived right near a lake and thought of doing this but I didn't know if I could get in trouble or not so i never did. I was also scared of the fish taking the boat under or it getting dragged out past the controllers zone.

I use to own an RC Typhoon, now I wished I had it still I wonder if it would of worked in pulling a fish in. Probably would of scared the fish off lol. Now I want an RC boat where I can try this, I have my uncle's pond or his spot on the lake to use the rig. Sounds neat to me, why didn't I think of that. Did they win the $10,000 prize TD?

UK Carp anglers have been using electric RC "bait boats" for some time to carry their offerings way out into the middle of a lake, way beyond normal casting range.

I also have a friend who used to trail a spinner behind an RC boat, he learned to his cost thet larger fish can pull a smaller boat right under, especially if you allow the fish to get at a side angle...I.e. the boat will roll and sink
