Fix for broken starter mount. Help with starter type.

I'm still going at this, and found a couple places that sell a plate that mounts around the bell housing, and the starter mounts to this plate.
Only problem is, I don't know if the starter these guys offer is marine grade. I highly doubt it is, even though they told me "the starter should be fine".

So is there any way to change the way a starter mounts? I can't find any kind of conversion kits, or nose cone swaps.
I need to change my new mercruiser 2 bolt staggered mount, to a front flange/transmission style mount.

Take a look at it here.

Are you planning on installing an automotive starter on this or just using that as an example.

I wouldn't use a car starter.

No, I was looking to convert my marine starter to mount up, or convert a car starter to marine specs.
But, I talked to a guy who brought up a great point.
If I install a plate between the engine and the bell housing to support a starter, it will change the rear mounting points of the engine since the rear mounts are essentially on the bell housing. So I'm off to find a new block.
It just amazes me that nobody has come up with some kind of repair brace/sleeve, etc. for the cracked bolt hole.

Ayuh,.... The Outside aft corner of the block, where the outer starter bolt screws in...
The aft outer ear, or flange...

I agree, there Ain't no easy fix....
