while towing my boat home i was sideswiped by aa large pickup truck

his plastic side view mirror left plastic on my hull from the bow to the stern

any idea how to safely remove it? It seems to just be on the surface near as i can tell. I was thinking a heat gun and plastic scraper??

not sure what to do

thanks!!

Razor blade use the flat edge and scrape it. It should come right off. Then sand with 1500 and buff with rubbing compound.

First I'd spray it with WD-40 on a green 3M scrub pad and try scrubbing it off. If that didn't work, I'd soak a rag with Acetone (Will NOT hurt the Gelcoat) and try rubbing it off before I'd use a razor blade to scrape it off.. The Acetone should break down the rubber marks.

Just goes to show that Woodie has forgotten more about fixing these boats than most of us will ever know! Can't expect him to keep all that info in his brain without some problems recalling it!
