Fix or Junkit that is the question!!!!

Hey good mariners now that I know what is wrong with the engine (250 GM) I am trying to justify either part it out or repair or replace the engine and restore the boat. My other boat is a deep V and has a 150 Merc on the transom which runs like a champ. What is the advantage of the I/O over the O/B. From looking at the I/O it appears it needs all seals replaced and some welding done on the skeg and on one of the fins? which has a chunk missing. The main resto is the engine the boat is a 69 tri-hull with the steering and controls darn near at the bow, 16' 6" long and about a 6' beam.

I think this was Pretty Well Covered in your "How to replace a Main Bearing " thread.......

From the Info in that thread,........
I don't think it could Ever be Cost Effective to Fix that old Pile of Parts.........
