I have two identical carbs, 60hp and one off 80hp both 67' v4's.
I've closely compared one to the other and found 2 suttle differences,
The 60hp carb has 76 stamped on the high speed orifice
The 80hp carb has 63 stamped on the high speed orifice
You would think it would be the other way around.
Wondering if someone tried to economize or thats what should be in there?
Anyone have a book that gives such technical data as jet sizes?
And the other difference was in the emulsion tubes just below the squirters (hollow brass tubes about 2" long) one set has two tiny bleed holes and one set has 4 tiny bleed holes, these are the only differences I could find.
So anyhow I compared everything and then used the best pieces to put one together.
My high speed run @ 4700RPM just a tad high 4500 is what it's rated for, I have a mid range surge thats not too bad definately noticable, I really need to find out if those little high sped orifices are the correct size.
