I need help desperately. I am looking for a flame arrestor for my boat. Cannot take it our with out one. My boat uses 2 and I am missing 1. It is a Barbron 571520AA, it has a vac plug and a 3.5 in. throat. I have tried K&N, CPP, and every where else I can think of. Anyone have a suggestion? Can I get one made? I contacted the manufacturer and they have been less than cooperative. I NEED HELP PLEASE!!!

Thanks,

The Smiths

Howdy Smiths.

If it's that urgent it would probably help to post your plea in the correct Forum.

I will move this to the I/O and Inboard Forum for you.

It is a 26' Fiberform cruiser, Ford Windsor 351 w/twin turbos. Here is a site to see pic of the engine.
http://www.geocities.com/rtajajolu/

There are 3 engine pics. You can see part of one of the arrestor on the left behind the wood.

I just looked through my inventory of **old** flame arrestors, but I could find nothing that matches, sorry. In fact it looks like we never had any kind of 3-1/2 inch ever.

;) try a different carb and maybe I could help!

Barbron was truly an un-responsive company back when we dealt with them. We used to buy 200 to 400 arrestors at a time from them. Even so, we gave up that business because we could not ensure any kind of delivery to withing +/- 6 months, prices subject to change during the time between order and delivery. It could take months just to have them acknowledge an order, let alone ship it.

Perhaps you can make an adapter that attaches like your original arrester on one side, and a flat plate with a large hole on the center with a stud sticking up on the other side, which would be shaped like a carburetor intake. Then you could use a standard arrestor. Of course the adapter would have to have an air airtight fit.
