Flo-Torq II for Older Force Motors?

Based on the research I've done, I think I know the answer is no.

Can the QuickSilver Flo-Torq II hub/prop system be used on older 15 Spline Force engines? I have an '86 85HP Force outboard.

Seems that it only works for 15 spline hub where the exhaust flows through the hub, where mine does not.

Am I correct?

TIA

Re: Flo-Torq II for Older Force Motors?

The Force has a 4 inch diameter gearcase and the Mercs over 90 Hp have a 4 1/4 or 4 1/2 diameter gearcase. I forget exactly but it is larger. While the splines will fit the shaft, the prop hub (outside not the inside splined hub) will be too large. The Merc splined hub may also be longer that the Force hub.

So you are correct: without some massaging of metal and customizing, the answer is no. Not an absolute no though, because there are some Merc props that will fit right onto older Force gearcases. I'm not familiar with the flo-torque pro and whether Merc mad different hub sizes.
