Re: float switch in lube oil reservoir

You may find the float switch, but have you looked down the filler neck to see what holds it in place? There is a large nut doing this...and I cannot picture just what tool (crow's foot wrench end?) will get in there to remove it.

There are new reservoirs with the switch installed all over the place...here at iboats, for instance.

If this were mine, I would pull the hose off...unstrap the reservoir...and flush it out with some gasoline. The gear lube has a tendency to get thick within the reservoir and gum things up. My guess is that you will end up 'fixing' yours!

Happy boating!

Howdy,

I don't think you can. You have to replace the whole reservoir.
