Floataion foam legally required in Canada?

Does anyone know if floatation foam is legally required in Canada?

I just redid my floor and transom and the boad had zero foam in it. Additionally, there's really no place to put it. It's a small boat, so maybe it's under the size were foam is required?

Anyone know about this? I don't mind american opinions on this either since I think most users here are probably american.

I'm a Yankee,+ My Boat is Legal on Both Sides of the St. Lawrence River without Foam....................

I live in nfld and as far as I know it doesn't matter because some people bulid wooden boats and there is no foam in them. just my opinion.
