Not sure if this belongs in restoration or general questions so bear with me.
Trying to figure out what this stuff is on the floor of my aluminum boat.
It was applied by a previous owner who is unknown, the PO that I purchased the boat from stated that entire inside was coated with this stuff but they had peeled it off down to the rivet line.
From what I can tell it seems to be a tough coating that was applied to a surface that wasn't properly prepped nor was the process completely thought out as there are areas where water is getting trapped between the coating and the hull; down the road I would like to take all of this stuff off and redo it properly with the same stuff or something similar.
