floor coating question

Im almost finished installing my new floor and a few new stringers. Question is what should I paint or coat my floor with after Im done before putting down carpet? Also will this same paint or coating be used in the engine bay? The boat is a I/O 26ft cuddy cabin.

Glass it or you wil be doing it again an about three or four years!Poly or epoxie will do.

On my first one I screwed down the ply and then carpet. I could actually remove the 8 screws and take off the floor. Needless to say, I didn't like working with the F/glass and resin...sl<br />The next time I'll put the carpet in w/snaps!...sl

Im talking about after I poly resin everything in place. You know like a coating or sealer of some kind?

poly is indeed a sealer when mixed with urethane, thats why they call it polyurethane sealer. hee hee<br /><br />West sells stuff made just for that purpose, but seems to me you could just use polyurethane sealer from Home Depot. Thats what I am doing. Plus it comes in different colors.

Project hunter did you use you glass cloth from side to side? And if you did you put epoxy or poly on it to keep it in place right? Then you dont need to seal it again. Just put you glue down then put your carpet on top if that what you want.

Thanks for the advice, how much cloth or mat should I use on by floorboards? Do you guys do both sides or not? I know I should seal all of my seat holes and soak my corners and edges right?

a thin layer is what im doing. I am resining the bottom side and glassing the topside. cheers
