So the boat that I purchased had the floors& stringers redone 2 years ago. The floor is rock solid except where the people get into the boat from the swim platform. Its not rotten at all, but it is de-laminating crating a spongy feel, it is only the top 2 plys and it is an 18x36 area. Is there anything that can be done? I don't want to replace the floors because there is not rot and it is a small area. My dad had mentioned shooting in some epoxy resin and rolling it to rebond the plys.

Re: Floor questions

You must mean the sole. Boats don't have floors.

If it is delaminating it is the wrong material and should be replaced.

Re: Floor questions

Have you drilled some test holes to make sure the wood is solid? If the wood is wet where it is delaminating..injecting epoxy isn't going to do anything. If it were me, and you know forsure that the deck isn't rotting, I would just cut out the problem area, put a new piece of outdoor Ply in there and re-glass it.
