Hey folks, I have hidden the boat since November when I stuffed it away (never should have since it was so mild...) but anyway.. Some of you may remember that I ripped out most of the decking of my 89 Seaswirl back in November, now I'm getting ready to put it back together... but I'm in a quandry... I want to do the minimum to get it ready for summer and not put TONS of money into it since it's my first boat, but want it to be structrually sound. So, there are some questions I have and some things I'm not sure about... So, here is my first question to start: Is there anyone in the Olympia, WA area that has rebuilt their boat that would be willing to take a look at what I have and give an opinion on whether to rip more.. or rebuild from where I'm at? I plan to post pics soon, but would really like to get a in-person review/advice if there is anyone out there first. Thanks, Rick

I'd post the pictures Olmpilot. Might be enough to give you some good advice in case you don't find someone close by.

Okay, here goes... This was originally a "repair" project, rather than a "rebuild" project. So, I need some insite/suggestions on whether I should consider getting this thing in the water this summer or just working on it.... ouch that thought hurts. I have the following questions and there is a link to 3 pictures at the bottom.

1. Do I need to rip EVERYTHING out and redo it or can I simply replace the floor for now and then work on the other rotten parts later?
2. Can you glass the floor to the sides that are already glass? It seems the floor butted up against foam, rather than being glassed to the original hull.
3. Can I keep the floor that is in the after part of the boat and join the old with the new by simply glassing/epoxying them together?
4. Are the rotted parts shown in the pictures part of the structural integrity?

Okay, here is a link to a webpage with 3 pictures showing sorta what I'm dealing with.
http://www.rawdesigns.com/Personal/boat/Decking Removal/project.htm

Thanks!
