Floor Starboard???

Happy New year to all.. I need to Replace my Floor.I was thinking of using 1/2inch starboard.My floor is 8feet by about 10 feet. Yes its not cheap stuff{Starboard}. I know it will never rot. It may Be a liitle heavy.I will need about 3 1/2 sheets. Or should I stick toTraditional Marine plywood and fiberglass?Any Opinions will be most appreciated....

The Starboard would be great (albeit big $$$), in an aluminum boat.

If the boat is fiberglass, the floor is an integral part of the structure. Thus the floor needs to be glassed in to provide support.

I do not believe the starboard has the "structural" strength. I would stay with the plywood and epoxy.

Thanks for the replies guys. Will 1/2''Marine plywood be enough?And should I fiberglass the plywood on the top and the bottom also to encapsulate the wood . Or can just paint the bottom with some epoxy paint? Much Thanks..T.Z.

TZ, I recommend 1/2" pressure treated plywood, glass cloth or mat and polyester resin. First make sure the plywood is dry. Next cut it to fit, coat it with resin on sides and bottom and screw it into the stringers with SS screws. Now coat the top with resin, lay on some cloth and saturate it with resin. You want two layers of cloth, unless it is really heavy coth.
