Rehabbing 1966 Duo Craft -

I'm fitting in a new stingers and floors -

How should the floor be oriented in the boat? specifically, should it be level (flat) to the bottom of the hull? should it be slanted forward or backward. Is it beneficial to have a crown in the floor to help water drain out? Or am I way over thinking this?

My concern is that the boat will be oriented in the water differently in than in the cradle and you will have to walk up hill or down hill when things should be flat.

My other question is what is the best way to attach the hull to the stringers? screw and epoxy fillet? 5200? etc.

Thanks.

Re: Flooring Questions

Put back new, what you took out old, in the same place, the same way .

Re: Flooring Questions

Everything I have seen is flat. If you took out the previous floor then you should duplicate to the best of your ability.

If you are taking out the floor - have not started yet - then try to save old parts so you have templates.

Is this aluminum or glass?

Re: Flooring Questions

It is a fiberglass hull. Not possible to use old floor as template because it was wood chips... literally. The manufacturer used gallons of fiberglass in between the original floor and the hull - I ground down to a good surface, but it is not even from side to side.
