I was looking at the FWP site and like how they made it simple to navigate [sorry, these seem to happen today] and how they listed where and how to get to the state boat ramps.

My question is, does FL require a "safe boating course/ card"?

Florida Boating Safety Education Requirements
Anyone 21 years of age and under who operates a vessel powered by 10 horsepower or more must pass an approved boater safety course and have in his/her possession photographic identification and a boating safety education identification card issued by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
A person is exempt from this requirement if there is a person on board who is not affected by this law or is at least 18 years of age and holds a boater education I.D. card. This person must be attendant to and take responsibility for the safe operation of the vessel.

My class was included by my local dealer when I got my boat and the local US Power Squadron gave the class. Everyone should take this course just for the insurance discount if you need motivation. As long as you're over 21 you should be good to go visiting Florida and enjoying our year round boating. The above info came from the FWC website...
