My 1994 aluminum (Polar Kraft Bass America) has what looks like crumbled up polystyrene loose in the bottom. I assume this is flotation material that has come loose. There's not a lot of it, but it makes me wonder if the flotation is deteriorated and soaked. Then again it could be someone's cooler that some drunk stepped on. Could this have been used for flotation?
I read somewhere to weigh the boat, but have no idea what the boat should weigh to start with. Is there anyway to determine if the flotation is saturated short of tearing it out, or rather, tearing into it? Seems to me this stuff shouldn't be in a boat anyway. Stuff in a boat is gonna get wet. I mean, you wouldn't want to store your powder in the bottom, would you?
Thanks,
John
