Engine 5.0 GxiB #4012069514

Upon starting engine after oil & filter change, the engine alarm sounded for about five seconds. I feel sure it was oil pressure causing the alarm. I observed it fluctuate and then stabilize. That's never happened in the nine years I've owned this boat. Now when operating the boat, at cruising rpm, the oil pressure is steady. At idle rpm the oil pressure is fluctuating about 5-10 psi.

Is this a sender issue? Or is my oil pressure really fluctuating? I guess the real test would be a direct reading gauge. Where do I obtain a direct reading gauge?

Ayuh,.... Remove, 'n clean the (-) battery cable, Both ends,....

The sender measures resistance to ground,.....

Corroded wire ends are very likely over time,....

Thanks, guys. I'll try the battery cable first. Then the direct read. I'll report what I find.
