Fluids used during new boat break-in

Just curious my new boat has used about 16oz of both engine oil and drive oil. It has the merc 350mag w/ bravo 3. After 15hrs of use. Just curious if that was pretty common? seems like the drive oil has been pretty consistent going down just lil by lil. Have added a couple of oz. of engine oil every couple of hours or so but never too much. Have heard that Bravo threes are notorious for prop seal leaks from factory. Also have heard that they run hot and even someone suggested that i may need a drive shower??? never heard of one on a smaller boat.

I have also noticed that while tubing behind it that it has a real whine to it. I'm assuming that this is normal for a B-3?

Any suggestions would be helpful

All boat engines will drink oil... because of the load they are always under. And try to stay in that good habit of checking it often.
Most engines will drink a bit more oil during break in, then settle down a bit in their consumption.
It should be standard operation procedure to check your engine oil every time before you fire up the engine on a new day.

The drive on the other hand... should be sealed.
If you went through 16oz's of drive oil, well then your leaked 16oz's of drive oil.
Thats a big problem.
Remember this with the drive. It sits in the water. If lube can get out, then water can get in. Water in the drive destroys drives.
I'd bring it right back to the dealer pronto!!!
