This is probably a dumb question but how can I flush my outboard after use. When I hook up the muffs i never get any water out of the pee hole. When its in the water it pees just fine. I assume I'm not really flushing it out if there is no water coming from the hole. Should I just let it run longer? I just don't want to cause any damage. I was thinking of using a very large trash can but would prefer not to buy one if its not necessary.

I ran mine in a regular outdoor (30 or 33 gallon idk which) trashcan last night. You can also use a tub like a rubbermaid type deal with some blocks under it to get it up high enough. Having the lower unit in real water is much better than the muffs IMO. Make sure you get the anti-ventilation ports completely submerged no matter what you use to soak it in.

Is that an inline motor or a V6? The telltale on the V6 can be behind the thermostat, and no water eill comeout until the motor is warm. This may not happen on the flusher.

If water comes out of the gratings above the antiventilation plate, the waterpump is working.

Also, sometimes the telltales get clogged uip.

It is a V6. I was able to get water flow from the pisser when i used a large can. Unfortunately I have to take off the stabilizer (I think thats what its called) to get it to fit in the can. Since this isn't very practicle I guess I'll go back to usnig the muffs. Do I need to just rev it up a bit in order to get the water to flow?

You probably need more water pressure from the hose to push the water up to the pump. It takes around 30-35 lbs or more to get a good flow.
