Well I finally “Updated” to 1993’s and a new hull

My question is that when I flush the motors with the hose screwed in to the back after I turn the hose off and disconnect it water shoots back out of the motor with a high volume and flow.

I would expect some water to drain back but is this normal?

Mac

When you flush, water should be flowing thru the motor and down the leg and out the prop. Once you shut off hose pressure, the system should drain and there should not be water shootin back at you. There may be some flow from points higher in the system than the flush connection, but that should be minimal and only under the force of gravity. I would suspect a restriction. You are not running the motor when flushing, correct?

No the motors are not running, Just hooking up the hose and opening the spicket (-5 spelling). I get plenty of water out of the LU an out of the prop, the thing that is bugging me is the force and volume that come back out of the motor where I unhook the hose. Both motors do it. I have only had these motors 2 weeks and they run fine but this is bugging me.

Mac

I have a 1995 175hp oceanpro and when I remove the telltale and hook up the garden hose, there is no residual pressure when I'm done. You have a different block than I have so I can't be much help.
Good luck
