Mornin All --

Mercruiser 5.7 Alpha I Gen II... So I was flushing my motor and washing my boat after a stint in some salt water and I had a thought.
I use Castrol Super Clean De-Greaser in the wash water when I'm getting road funk off the boat. While I was hooking up to run de-salter stuff through the motor (after warmed up), I decided to run some of the de-greaser through the cooling system. Keep in mind that this particular stuff (purple jug) is non-flammable and non-volatile (and yet still cleans pretty well ... like super 409). Well I ran a single cup-full through the adapter (came with the de-salter) and got all sorts of gunk came out (mostly rust type stuff). So I ran a few more through.
Any thoughts? Am I hurting anything? Anyone else run anything odd through the cooling system to clean it out?

Thanks
