It is true that each time you use your outboard engine be it on salt water or fresh water you MUST flush this out after each and every use?

Fresh water NO unless you run it in sand or mud..Salt water YES.It will after a while clog up and start to corrode.
Unfortunately once you run it in salt water it will never get all the salt out.But flushing will get most out.Jerry

Re: Flushing out your Outboard Engines

Hi Jerry,

what a bummer, and work that will be. Now exactly how do you do this? Do you like make a makshift transom at home and a bucket or barrel of water and run the engine?

UPDATED since post.

I just read that the new engines are developed to have anti corrosion and therfore its not necessary to flush after each use. I have since been looking on youtube and saw how to do it. BUT, some are saying the muffs are not good to use. I would really like to know which is correct. thanks
