Has anyone dealt with this company and bought a reman carb throught them? They claim their carbs are tested and tuned, I need one for a 3.0L mercruiser with the mercarb and am considering this company. flyfishingcarburetors.com

Re: flyfishingcarburetors

Just recently purchased a rochester carb from flyfishing carbs for 5.0L. As you I was worried to because thier price was amazingly lower than others. It took about 2 weeks for it to arrive. Installed it only had to adjust the shift cable a little to idle right, but other than that the carb ran perfect with no mixture adjustments. Used boat many of times since no problems.Highly recomend them. I would change water -fuel seperater just for good measures. If you do make sure you fill it back up with gas to prime new carb.

I did not have a good experience with them. Ended up costing me a 25% re-stocking fee to return a carb that never worked correctly.

I've noticed the posters praising these guys have a lower post count than I do  sounds fishey to me, I read a post last night from a new member who started with a question about a poorly running carb, then I believe on his second post he had already recieved a carb from said company and just couldn't post their URL enough.

Just my two pennies.

I have no doubt that the carb you got from them worked fine. Mine didn't. And I get that it was a reman. All I wanted was a replacement for the one that didn't work. It wasn't the initial problem. It was how it was handled. That to me is the difference between mediocre companies and truly great ones.

I never asked for anything free. I did everything they asked me to do. In the end I paid a 25% fee for doing that.

Yeah, that is not very good cust. service. That's unfortunate because they say they are bolt on and go, they also have a lifetime guarantee. Has anyone else used this company??

So are there other options out there for a GOOD reman?

I bolted my re manufactured Solex on and went boating. The only adjustment required was an idle adjust. I did add a fuel filter as my 84 Bayliner did not have one. The boat runs great and I can cruise at any rpm now. Happy Customer!!
