flying scot 75 hp motor

Can anyone tell me more info about the flying scot engines...got a bead on one reconditioned than stowed for 10 years....along with an older 16 foot Penn Yann...... wooden boat interest

best to use a single post for a single topic.<br /><br />My guess is you have a '60s Scott, but it's a guess with no real basis (other than horsepower and the designation "Flying Scott" which I don't think was used in reference to to old Scott Atwaters.) <br /><br />It's easier to find parts for Evinrudes and Johnsons if you are looking to restore a period motor to go with the PennYan, but if the Scott is in good shape it can also be a nice motor for the boat.

Most likely<br />parts are scarcer than hens teeth.<br /> I sure wouldnt reccomend it to any one without <br />good mechanical and outboard knowledge.
