3 cyl 90 hp merc flywheel will not budge. I can put the the gear box in forward and reverse. what is the next step to get it to move. It was taken off the boat 1 year ago when it stopped running during a short trip.
It's seized? You have to determine if the seizure is in the gearcase or the powerhead. If it's the gearcase, the flywheel should be able to rock back and forth a tiny bit. But it still might if it's a powerhead seizure, so the only way to know for sure is to remove the gearcase.

Drop the lower unit and try turning the flywheel. If the flywheel doesn't turn then the problem is in the powerhead. The only to check and fix that is a complete teardown and rebuild of the powerhead.
i just unfroze a 15hp evinrude thats been frozen for the last 4 yrs by spraying pb blaster in the cyl's and letting it soak for a week and half....every couple of days i would go out and try to turn it ...finally it did...still got decent compression on both cyl's...i'll find out tonight if it runs..then i'll decarb it....try it out..its worth a shot.
