FlyWheel how many Magnets? specs.

I can not find out how many Magnets belong in my flywheel. It is a 1980-83 Mercury 40hp serial #05992846 elec start 78 tooth. I beleive the part # is 242-7912 a8. I have tried mercury but they can not give me any info.<br /> Do the Magnets go all around? when I pulled mine I had about 2 1/2 total, all cracked and split. I do not know if the previous owner messed with it. I did finally find a flywheel but the Magnets go all around, would this work?. Thanks Bryan

​I have the same problem. Were you able to determine how many magnets are required? Did you find either replacement magnets or a replacement part?

Wildlife hasnt been back to this topic after 14yrs. And hasnt been on iboats in 8yrs+

As suggested in the helpful tip at the top of the forum pages, start a new topic about yoyr flywheel magnets.

And followup whether you find a solution or not.
