We are putting my Johnson 40 HP 1990 model back together after replacing a burnt piston. When we removed the flywheel, we noticed it had been rubbing the ignition component. There was evidence where the flywheel had been rubbing the plastic. I sanded the flywheel inner surfaces to clean. When replacing the flywheel, it is binding against the ignition and the ignition system doesnt operate smoothly. Is there some way to check the flywheel for being out of round? Should the suspect be the ignition and if so, what and how do you check? The ignition operates smoothly when the flywheel is not attached. We have lived in the repair manual and had our hopes up nearing completion only to run into this problem. Anyone with experience on this?<br />Thank you.
