Flywheel magnents

Working on flywheel. Anyone know how remove magnents from one flywheel to another in a merc 120 hp flywheel. I tried blowtorch and hammer, both are doing damage to magnents. original flywheel magnents came loose and broke into pieces.

Soak the inside where magnets are with acetone, then try hitting top of flywheel with hammer, if it does not loosen any of them then use a small chisel to hit right above magnet on the flywheel in a few spots digging into the metal and they should break free. Do not try to pry on magnet or hit it directly as they will crack.

i did try to hit with wide flathead..but thet broke off in pieces..I will try acetone I guess.

Heat ( not from propane , blow torch or MAP gas) use a paint scrapper and gentle force works every time .

I replaced magnets...new problem..the crankshaft key broke off when I ran the boat..so now what?...why did it break and can it be fixed?...
