Flywheel Magnet

The last few times I had the 96 Skeeter on the water I would be able to run around for about an hour or two but eventually my battery would be dead and I couldn't get the engine to fire up. When I removed the cover last time, I found a chunk of magnet stuck to my starter. After further inspection One of the magnets under the flywheel is broken in half. I'm assuming this is the cause of the non-charging battey. Should I be concerned about my stator? Any other components?

Re: Flywheel Magnet

If it got out from under and its still running you did very very well...but you must find the other bit ....in flying out it may have cut a cable or damaged a stator coil (more likely) ...its flywheel off and it sounds like go find another one as if the magnets broken you cannot put it back and others may be ready to leave the ship. If the stator has had its windings "clipped" you may be able to mend it if you are inventive with soldering iron and epoxy.
