Hi all,
Can anybody tell me if you can buy replacement Flywheel magnets for a 1994 90hp Force by Mercury, or do you have to replace the whole Flywheel ?.
Many thanks,
Albert.

I have never seen replacement magnets but you can call a Mercruiser dealer and ask.

Re: Flywheel magnets

HI,
Thanks, I have seen another post on iboats re Johnston outboards and it seems they do supply a magnet replacement kit including glue.
As force engines 1990's era seem to have problems with flywheel magnets breaking loose I was hoping a kit may be available.

Would anybody like to speculate as to what company manufactures and supplies flywheel magnets for the outboard market.?
How critical is it to match the strength of any replacement magnets, bearing in mind my engine has been running quite smoothly at low and medium rpm with a totaly mashed magnet, (have been running the engine for weeks thinking I had a fuel supply problem at high rpm). The loss of 1 magnet seems to only affect high rpm performance.

I can't help thinking that there must be a more cost effective method (and therefor a market/supplier) than replacing the whole flywheel, because of one broken magnet.
regards Albert.
