Having a difficult time removing the flywheel nut. Need to get a socket for it, but unable to determine exact size. I know it is less than 32mm and less than 1 1/4, but greater than 1 1/16. Store didn't have anything in between. Checked all resources am aware of. I'm thinking 28-31mm if metric.

Help
S150TXRV

Re: Flywheel Nut

Thanks Ray. Almost a bill later I have a set of large impact sockets (incld 30mm), as well as an electric impact wrench.

TO ANYONE ATTEMPTING TO LOOSEN YOUR FLYWHEEL NUT:
I tried and tried to loosen my flywheel nut with a rachet and pipe extension. Couldn't crack it.

GET AN IMPACT WRENCH. Three to five impacts later (half-second), the nut spun right off like a hot knife through butter.

Re: Flywheel Nut

You will also need the impact to pull the flywheel and tighten the nut back.
