Re: Flywheel Question

Some flywheels for that model you could add a ring gear, some you had to replace the flywheel if it didn't come from the factory as a electric start engine. The hardest item ot find is the starter, do you have one? If not you need to find a donor engine for parts.

it has no previous starter, sometimes you see them on ebay but very rarely, any advice on how to get or even find a differnet flywheel from a newer or older model/year engine

Re: Flywheel Question

You will need to ck at a parts site http://www.mercruiserparts.com/ with your serial number to find that info, there were 5 or 6 differant ign. systems and flywheels used on the 20 HP engines and most will not interchange
