I want to thank everyone who replyed to me concerning my starter. That problem has been corrected.
However, my flywheel will not turn, it is frozen.
The starter wasn't the problem.
It was running great when it came to a stop. I tryed to start it 2 time but it only lasted about 10 seconds and died again. It hasn't started since.
This is a reman motor and I got it back about 6 months ago.
I would appreciate any info from you guys in the know about machanics as to what you think the problem may be.
I need help PLEASE

Re: Flywheel wont turn

It sounds as if the engine has failed and needs to go back for another reman.

Re: Flywheel wont turn

The first I blew it up.
The second ???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
They will pick it up after the New Year around the 5th or 6th of January.
Keeping my fingers crossed there isn't going to be a 3d one.

Re: Flywheel wont turn

Very often engines are rebuilt without investigating "why" it failed. Carbureted engines (two strokes) are prone to failure when carburetors get varnished up and the engine begins to run lean. One can rebuild the engine only to have it fail again because the carb issue was never resolved. Air leaks, cooling problems, oil injection systems and ignition issues can also cause failure.

Re: Flywheel wont turn

Not being a machanic I thank you for your opinion. This gives me something to think about when the arguements come as I am sure they will when they pick it up.
I feel like I am going to have my hands full by them saying it was something other then what they repaired when they reman the motor the first time.
Brakeing in time was 8 to 10 hours which I followed without fail. This situation came at around 15 hours after thinking every thing was alright. There is no sign of any fight yet, but who knows.
If anyone has something to say concerning this matter please jump in.
All suggestions are deeply appreciated.
Thanks again Supreme Mariner and the rest of you guys that replyed so far.

Re: Flywheel wont turn

The first I blew it up.

However, my flywheel will not turn, it is frozen.

It is my opinion that determining why the flywheel won't physically turn (i.e., piston meltdown, bearing failure, rod break, seized piston, etc) would be a good indication as to whether a pre-existing (unfixed) conditon caused the second failure or if the remanufacture of the engine was at fault. Also, knowing what actually "blew up" the first time, and if it was the same thing that "blew up" the second time, would also tell a lot.

Blaming the second failure on the remanufacture without more information would not be a compelling claim to me. Just my thoughts...

Re: Flywheel wont turn

The first time it blew up was due to the fact that original owner never took it in for a factory recall on an engine part.
It actualy blew a piston out of the powerhead and it had to be replaced.
The hole it made when it came out was of good sizes.
The second time ( frozen ) I don't know. As I had stated before I was slowing down and it just came to a stop.
By the way, when they remaned, according to them all internal machanical parts could not be safed and had to be replaced.
Thank You so much for your reply
